A few months ago, the Bureau’s School of Designers published a new assignment. For this project, I procrastinated and only started working on it two weeks before its deadline. The task is explained like this:<\/p>\n

\n

Imagine that an app existed that monitored any parameters of the body including pulse, pressure, breath, weight, PH level, cholesterol, dopamine, adrenaline by using non-invasive forms.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

Develop a device interface that analyzes the condition of the body and helps it to live and work better. The app offers suggestions to increase productivity, warns of diseases, recommends a beneficial diet.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

It is enough to show a key scenario or day of a person’s life with this device for it to work. The device can be presented in any shape: phone, clock, pendant, headband on the head, earphone. The transfer of thoughts directly to the brain has not yet invented, so we will have to use five senses for the transmission of information: vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

The result will be judged by simplicity, convenience of man and consistency of correct information. Bold ideas are welcomed, but do not invent a device that is impossible to believe it. We evaluate the quality of interface and not the knowledge of biology and medicine. The analysis of the subject will improve the evaluation, but the technical flaws are forgiven.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Brief summary of the solution<\/h2>\n

Health, an app that cares about your well-being makes your life healthier and more comfortable. The app gives recommendations on prevention and treatment and warns of illness. It works in conjunction with the “Caretaker 2” chip. The device measures pulse, pressure, PH levels, cholesterol, dopamine, and adrenaline.<\/p>\n

You do not need to buy a special device. The app can be downloaded onto any device that runs on the operating system iOS or Android. Almost everyone has such a device, right? Right.<\/p>\n

Activation<\/h2>\n

To activate the chip, it is easy…Just swallow the pill and drink water. The shell is dissolvable and the “caretaker 2” chip will be able to measure the parameters. The device lives in the body for 2 years. Then the chip is completely dissolved. Of course, all of this is my fantasy. Or, maybe not.<\/p>\n

Indicators on one screen. Smart Alarm Clock<\/h2>\n

The data is calculated in real time, so the graphics are very smooth. The exception is the pulse, and it is calculated every minute. The app will wake you up at the optimal time of day for the body, according to your daily health indicators.<\/p>\n

Medications and medical card<\/h2>\n

Based on the data from the medical card, the app knows when you need to take medications. You can put a reminder and postpone a portion of the pill.<\/p>\n

The medical card contains general information about the user, doctor, and medications. In case of an emergency, doctors will be able to easily determine your blood type, allergens and contact family members. The app allows you to make an appointment with a doctor, order a prescription, and renew health insurance.<\/p>\n

Call the emergency<\/h2>\n

The app warns of a important health condition. It offers to call an ambulance based on your geolocation, or to make an appointment with a doctor. The app uses data from the medical card.<\/p>\n

Indicator control<\/h2>\n

Monitors the body’s performance per day. It recommends how much to eat, how much water to drink, workouts, or time of rest.<\/p>\n

It’s also looking for the nearest supermarket or pharmacy on the map. The user can tell about the application to friends. To notify – the application uses notifications. For management – Siri, 3d-Touch and geolocation.<\/p>\n

Insurance<\/h2>\n

The app contains information about the user’s health insurance. The user can receive notifications of expiration dates and offer renewals.<\/p>\n

Statistics, analysis, customization<\/h2>\n

It is possible to monitor statistics by using graphics or by using excel tables. The analysis of indicators for day, week, month, year or calendar is displayed.<\/p>\n

In the settings, you can follow the life cycle of the chip and adjust health parameters. You can control the alarm and call an ambulance. Special options for people with disabilities are even provided.<\/p>\n

New website CrossFit Martell solves two problems: tells beginner athletes of CrossFit and convinces local and foreign people to register for classes.<\/p>\n

If the user is familiar with CrossFit, the user can easily check schedules, prices, and register for classes. For this purpose we developed a separate webpage that the user can access using a menu.<\/p>\n

If the user has additional questions he can directly ask the trainer via moving button. It opens a modal window with messages, phone numbers and email addresses.<\/p>\n

The website is mobile compatible.<\/p>\n

I designed pages for a website. Sasha Fazulin contacted the client and edited pictures.
\nNatasha Nikonova and Alina Mishurdnko wrote the context. Maksim Ilyaxov was an art director for the project and Sasha Ivanov wrote HTML and CSS codes for the website.<\/p>\n

Problem and Solution<\/h2>\n

The fitness club opened in the business center SPEKTR in Minsk two years ago. The visitors had difficulty finding the entrance, frequently wandering and complaining about being lost. That’s why Yegor Selyutyin and I designed and displayed signage inside the fitness club. We wanted the signs to answer a few questions, and the answers to those questions we treated as elements of the signage system. We discovered without much effort you can make a sign for any location.<\/p>\n

Location<\/h2>\n

The club is located on the business center’s third floor. Unfortunately, the stairs’ entrance is hidden. After a series of observations, we developed a plan to find key traffic sources and display the signage as shown in the picture.<\/p>\n

\n\"\"\n<\/div>\n

Visual language<\/h2>\n

They were inspired by the subway signs in New York and wanted to compliment its American style. The main colors of the gym were also used in the signage design.<\/p>\n

Materials<\/h2>\n

In August 2017, we placed the signs made of plastic and supported by metal frames throughout the center, using heavy duty double sided tape. We were pleased to see that the signs did not fade in color, did not fall off, and continue to help visitors navigate.<\/p>\n

During the course “Typography‘ by Igor Shtang, we were challenged with creating a pre revolutionary advertising poster for Mercedes Benz.<\/p>\n

After the course, I asked for a consultation with the Igor Shtang in order to achieve the best version of the project. After a week we had this as a final result.<\/p>\n

Three in one<\/h2>\n

The method consists of collaboration context photography and illustration. The photography demonstrates the dynamic of the project, the fonts make it stylish, and the context makes it informative.<\/p>\n

Layout<\/h2>\n

I used a vertical table of 12 columns for elements alignment and for vertical typographic rhythm – horizontal layout.<\/p>\n

\n\"\"\n<\/div>\n

Style<\/h2>\n

Jobbing font from the lines, parts of the photograph that are out of focus, and the background are all elements that attribute to an art deco style. Layout and modules are linked to Switzerland’s style. At the end, it looked completely renewed.<\/p>\n

Assignment: design a Minsk Metro map for other cities to be jealous of.<\/p>\n

The centre<\/h2>\n

The main idea was to show the centre thoroughly and to simplify the rest. In the central part of the city, landmarks, parks, the river, streets and the location of the station exits are shown. This makes the map evenly dense, attractive for tourists and useful for the locals. Trees and bridges are given special love. The buildings are highly detailed, but shown in calm colours to not obstruct the main information layer.<\/p>\n

Line being built<\/h2>\n

The label of the green line that is under construction, which is denoted by a neat dot pattern, also includes the planned year of completion.<\/p>\n

Legend<\/h2>\n

The legend is nowhere to be found on the map: all non-obvious elements are labeled in-place.<\/p>\n

Index<\/h2>\n

To keep the map clean from the coordinate grid and facilitate the station lookup, the station index is relying on “Compass” system, first used in my Moscow Metro map of 2013.<\/a> To find a station, just look in the direction of an arrow.<\/p>\n
